POTEAU, Oklahoma – The Men’s wrestling team competed in the Viking Open hosted by Carl Albert State College in Poteau, OK. They were just one of 21 teams who participated in the tournament. The Scots fought hard and ended with two wrestlers, Jacob Keher and Ariston Bartley, in the consolation semi-finals. The tournament was finalized before any finals matches took place resulting in double forfeits for all remaining matches.

Jacob Keher got a tech fall, 19-3, over his opponent from Wayland Baptist University in the quarterfinal round of the 133 B pound weight class. Ariston Bartley bounced back after a loss in the first championship round with a pin just 44 seconds into the match. Bartley’s pin was the eighth fastest pin of the tournament. Clay Queen Jr. also recorded a pin over his opponent from Central Baptist University while Ty Ferguson won, 5-0, against an unattached wrestler.

The men’s wrestling team will be on the road again at Lindenwood University in St. Charles, MO next Saturday, 11/18, for the Lindenwood Open.
