Scots have tough outing in Cumberland Open

Lebanon, TN – Scots took to the mats in the Cumberland Open hosted by Cumberland University. A total of six wrestlers competed for Lyon in a tough outing as only one secured a win. 

Things got off to a start in the 133 pound weight class with a major decision and a fall in under five minutes. In the 165 weight class Scots suffered a fall and technical fall, at 184 pounds Wayland Baptist earned a fall in three minutes. Eli Lupton would earn the Scots only win of the day with a decision victory (2-9) at 197 pounds, he would lose two other matches by decision and technical fall. Lyon would be unsuccessful at 285 with a fall coming in a little over a minute. 

Scots will head to the SLIAC Championships hosted by Eureka College in Eureka, Illinois this coming Friday February 13. ‘
