BATESVILLE, Ark. – Lyon College student-athletes had a strong semester academically despite transitioning back to in-person learning and each of the teams competing as 34 Scots earned a 4.0 grade-point average, while 183 student-athletes were recognized Tuesday when Lyon Director of Athletics, Kevin Jenkins, announced the Spring 2021 Athletic Director’s Honor Roll. To be named to the AD’s Honor Roll, a student-athlete must finish the semester with a grade-point average of 3.0 or higher.
The Scots’ baseball team led the way with 31 players named to the honor roll. Men’s soccer was second with 21 student-athletes recognized. Football had the third-most players honored (20), followed by softball (19) and women’s soccer (14). Men’s basketball and volleyball both had 12 student-athletes recognized, while women’s basketball and men’s track & field were not far behind at 11 and 10 student-athletes, respectively. Men’s golf and women’s track & field both had nine student-athletes honored, followed by cheerleading (7), men’s cross country (5), women’s cross country (5), competitive dance (4), women’s golf (4), men’s wrestling (3) and women’s wrestling (2).
