Little Rock SAAC Announces Sportsmanship Student-Athletes of the Month for January

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – The Little Rock Athletic Department’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) has named their Sportsmanship Student-Athletes of the Month.  Sanaa Williams, a member of the soccer team, and Joey and Matty Bianchi , members of the wrestling team, earned the honor for January.

SAAC sent out a form throughout the month of January to all student-athletes to vote on the the teammate that had the best sportsmanship.

Sanaa Williams, Soccer

• Great energy towards all athletes!
• Always shaking the other team’s hands after games and helping them up during it
• Always supports her teammates and is a Trojan at heart
• She is always encouraging to her teammates and even befriends the other team and refs. She is an amazing player and person and makes me a better player as well!

Joey and Matty Bianchi, Wrestling

• Joey – He’s stepped up huge this year.
• Matthew – He is a great leader for the team and works his butt off to better the program. He also supports every team on campus and goes to every game/event.

Little Rock’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) is a committee made up of student-athletes assembled to provide insight on their experience. These student-athletes also offer input on the rules, regulations and policies that affect student-athletes’ lives on Little Rock’s campus. Members of Little Rock’s SAAC have the opportunity to address issues affecting student-athletes at their institution or in their conference; furthermore, members have the opportunity to offer input on issues that may be national in scope.

Through the grass-roots efforts of the campus SAACs communicating with the conference SAACs, and the conference SAACs communicating with the national SAAC, student-athletes have the opportunity to change the face of intercollegiate athletics.
