Batesville, AR – Lyon College hosted two teams at the Lyon College Tri-Meet. Three Scots wrestlers earned victories in their matches against Central Baptist College.
In the 125-pound weight class, Shmuel Tabak earned a victory over a Mustang wrestler with a first-period pin, taking the match 6-0. Ty Ferguson, competing at 133 pounds, recorded a pinfall at 4:40 to secure a 12-0 win. Eli Lupton claimed the win in the 197-pound weight class via forfeit.
Leonard Dinwiddie battled hard against the Mustangs but was ultimately pinned at 5:06. Donovan Washington was pinned early in his match at 1:35. In the mid-heavyweight bout, Jaime Vazquez fought a long match but was pinned at 6:37. Cade Norton also fought valiantly but was pinned just under two minutes. At heavyweight, Israel Benardo pushed his opponent to the limit with several near falls but was unable to secure the pin. The match concluded with the Mustangs earning a narrow 4-0 victory.
Central Baptist would take the match 27-18.
