SPRINGFIELD, Missouri – The Drury Open proved to be a trying tournament for the Scots, but never the less the Scots did not go down without a fight. Lyon College was just one of 31 different teams in attendance.

Ariston Bartley was able to advance to championship quarterfinals in the 184 pound weight class after he bested his opponent from Northeastern Oklahoma A&M via pin in the first round of their match. Robert Lee was able to find success in similar fashion to Bartley as he pinned his opponent from Ouachita Baptist University earning him a bout to the second consolation round of the 285 pound weight class.

“It was a tough tournament”, said Coach Zach Mizer. “We made some mistakes that need to be corrected this coming week so that we can finish the semester strong next Sunday at 3:00 pm.”

Sunday, December 10th, at 3:00 pm the men’s wrestling team will host Carl Albert State University for their last wrestling event of the semester.
