Ouachita Baptist wrestling earned wins in two dual matches Tuesday at Williams Baptist in Walnut Ridge. The Tigers defeated the host Eagles 22-21 and Lyon by a score of 53-0.
Ouachita used an early advantage to edge out Williams Baptist in a one-point match, winning the first six weights. Freshman Noah Yeamans started the match with a 5-3 decision over Robert Fairchild at 125. Evan Kennedy defeated Josh Wright by 4-3 decision at 133.
Jessie Hodge picked up a major decision victory over Isaiah Vizcarrondo at 141, followed by a 15-0 tech fall win for Jaylon Otero over Alzarius Boykins at 149. Jackson Carter defeated Nick Souder by major decision at 157, and Chase Howerton won by 7-3 decision over Gavin Wells at 165, giving Ouachita enough of a lead to hold on for the victory.
Against Lyon, the Tigers took forfeit victories at five weights while recording two pins, a tech fall and a major decision at four of the remaining five weights. Robert Otero picked up his first pin of the season at 157, and Rey Reyes earned his second of the season at 174.
Cole McCartney recorded a win by 16-0 tech fall at 133, and Cody Cagle won by 15-3 major decision at 285.
