SIX TIGERS UNBEATEN AT VIKING OPEN

POTEAU, Oklahoma – The Ouachita wrestling team had six student-athletes go unbeaten this past Saturday at the Viking Open hosted by Carl Albert State College.

Jaylon Otero once again led the Tigers in total points with a 4-0 record at the Viking Open in the 157A bracket. He earned two wins by fall (6:30 and 1:31) and one win by tech fall (17-2). Otero is now 8-1 this year with his only loss coming to the second-ranked D2 wrestler in the nation.

Donald Paul, Jimmy Anderson, and Jake Romig all went 3-0. Paul earned wins by major decision (12-0), by fall (2:57) and by forfeit in the 285B bracket. Anderson earned two wins by fall (2:31 and 2:41) and one by tech fall (17-0) in the 133B bracket. Romig won by decision (7-5), by injury default (3:00), and by fall (1:18) in the 149A bracket.

Will Wilson and Parker Henry each went 2-0. Wilson won by fall (3:39) and by sudden victory (12-9) in the 165 B bracket. Henry won by fall twice (6:38 and 3:46) in the 184A bracket.

The Tigers are at home for the first time this season this Wednesday against the University of the Ozarks. The first bout is set for 6 p.m. at the Sturgis Physical Education Center.
