Batesville, AR – Lyon College Athletic Director Kevin Jenkins has announced Shelden Struble as the next head coach of Scots Men’s Wrestling.
“We are excited to welcome Shelden Struble as the next head coach of our men’s wrestling program. Shelden brings a strong wrestling background, a passion for developing student-athletes, and the leadership to build a competitive, championship-caliber culture,” said Jenkins. “His commitment to excellence on the mat, in the classroom, and throughout the recruiting process makes him a great fit for Lyon College. We look forward to the future of Scots wrestling under his leadership.”
Struble comes to Lyon with coaching experience across the NAIA, NCAA Division II, high school, and club levels, with a strong background in athlete development, recruiting, and program building. He most recently served as an assistant coach at Siena Heights University, where he helped guide the Saints to a 5-3 dual meet record while assisting in the development of an NAIA National Qualifier.
Prior to Siena Heights, Struble worked as a graduate assistant at the University of Indianapolis, contributing to the recruitment and development of multiple NCAA Division II All-Americans and a National Champion. He also gained valuable experience at the club level with coaching stints at Askren Wrestling Academy and Ringneck Wrestling Club. Struble also has experience serving on staff at the nationally recognized J Robinson Intensive Wrestling Camps. His previous head coaching experience was at Biggs High School in California where he revitalized the wrestling program by growing the roster tenfold. He led the team to a third-place conference finish and qualified four wrestlers for the CIF Masters Tournament.

Prior to coaching he was a four-year letter winner and three-year team captain of the University of Indianapolis men’s wrestling team. During his time with the Greyhounds he was a three-time NCAA Division II national qualifier, finished his career with the third most pins in school history, and was honored in 2019 with the Michael Horton award for Most Outstanding Wrestler.
He is a native of Bryan, Ohio, earning both his bachelor’s degree in English and a Master of Science in Strategic Leadership and Design from the University of Indianapolis.
