de Brum takes Lyon College women's wrestling head coach position

BATESVILLE, Arkansas – Lyon College Athletics is pleased to announce that former Scots women’s wrestler Emma de Brum has been selected to be the Lyon College Women’s Wrestling Head Coach

de Brum is from Lana’i City, Hawai’i. She graduated from Lyon in May 2023 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration: Management and Finance, with a  minor in computer science. 

de Brum was part of the Scots women’s wrestling team from 2018 to 2023. In 2020, she finished in third place at the Sooner Athletic Conference Championships and was part of a first place team finish. In 2021 she finished in third place at the SAC tournament and in 2022 was SAC runner-up in her weight class.

After graduation, de Brum was hired as the Lyon College Athletics Media and Communications Assistant. In January 2024, she became women’s wrestling interim head coach and the Scots took third place as a team in St. Louis Intercollegiate Conference (SLIAC) Championships with two individual champions. Her team won first place as a team in the National College Wrestling Association Southwestern Confernce meet and had two All-American finishers.Lyon had four individual champions at the Southwest Conference Championships at Texas A&M University.

de Brum was named NCWA SWC Female Coach of the Year.
