Eagles Finish 2nd at AMC Championships; Perovic Named AMC Wrestler of the Year

LINCOLN, Ill. – The Williams wrestling team finished in second place at the AMC Championships with 164.5 points, 19.5 points behind the winners in Lincoln College.

The Eagles had four take home individual titles: Josh Wright (133), Nicholas Souder (149), Isaiah Sellers (174), and Nikolas Perovic (184). With their wins, they have earned a trip the NAIA National Championship. Isaiah Vizcarrondo earned a wild card spot to the NAIA National Championship. 

Souder was named the Outstanding Wrestler of the Meet after defeating his opponent 8-6 in the championship match. 

At the meet the AMC announced season award winners and All-Conference selections. Perovic was named the AMC Wrestler of the Year, while Souder, Perovic, and Vizcarrondo earned All-Conference Selections. Vizcarrondo was also named to the Champions of Character Team. 

Vizcarrondo and Johnny Baldwin also earned Academic All-Conference selections.
