ST. LOUIS, Missouri — Lyon College freshman women’s wrestler D’Mysha James earns her first SLIAC Wrestler of the Week award.

James earns the distinction after earning her first collegiate victory this past Friday at the Texas Woman’s University tri-duals in Denton, Texas.

She finished the day 1-1, with her victory coming via pin fall at the 5:21 mark in a hard-fought battle against Symphanie Simpson of Schreiner University, the third team competing at the tri-dual.

James earned the award opposite Thomas Culp of Eureka College, who earned the SLIAC Wrestler of the Week award on the men’s side.

James and the Scots will return to action on Saturday, February 15, when they travel to the University of the Ozarks to compete at the 2025 SLIAC Conference Championships.
