MANHEIM, Pennsylvania – Five Ouachita student-athletes have earned a spot on the 2024 National Wrestling Coaches Association NCAA Division II Scholar All-America Team.
Highlighting this year’s Tiger wrestlers to earn the honor is junior Brooks Schrimsher, who is now a two-time NWCA Scholar All-America honoree, and sophomore Jimmy Anderson, who represented Ouachita at the NCAA D2 Wrestling Championships this season at 133. Others to make the 2024 squad include freshman Caleb Andrews, freshman Parker Henry, and freshman Sam Schmidt.
These five are a part of a record 363 total individuals from 61 different institutions to earn the distinction this year. Qualifications for the honor include a wrestler that competed in at least four dates of competition this year with at 3.5 cumulative GPA. That benchmark moves to 3.25 for NCAA Wrestling Championships participants and 3.0 for those that earned All-America honors.
Anderson and Andrews are both political science majors. Henry is majoring in psychology. Schmidt and Schrimsher are both majoring in business.
