Scots men's wrestling competes well at 2025 Cumberland Open

LEBANON, Tennessee — Lyon College men’s wrestling has good showing at 2025 Cumberland University Open.

The Scots garnered 15.5 team points, finishing in 11th place out of 29 teams, against opponents from several Division 1 programs from the SEC and the Big 12.

Five of Coach Chris Wilmington‘s wrestlers competed at the event today, finishing 6-10 collectively.

Clay Queen Jr. finished 2-2 on the day with five team points, picking up his wins against Asher Seaver via pin fall at the 0:44 mark and also against Hayden Cannady of the University of Pikeville via 16-0 technical fall.

Liam Selhorst also finished 2-2 on the day with five team points, picking up his victories against Isaac Perriguey of the University of Memphis and then against Jordan Haskins of Lindsey Wilson College via 12-3 majority decision.

Eli Lupton finished 1-2 on the day, with his victory coming against Jacob Clark of Huntingdon College via pin fall at the 2:54 mark.

Robert Lee also finished 1-2, with his lone victory coming against Adam Swanton of the University of Alabama.

Shmuel “Sam” Tabak finished 0-2 on the day.

The Scots will return to action on Saturday, February 15 when they travel to the University of the Ozarks to compete at the 2025 SLIAC Conference Championships.
