BATESVILLE, Arkansas – The Scots fell to Williams Baptist University 34-24 in a dual hosted by Lyon College. The Scot Mat Men led 18-5 over the Williams Baptist University Eagles after Sophomore Clay Queen Junior pinned his opponent in dominant fashion at the 149 pound weight class. The Scots had no choice but to give up three straight forfeits in the 157, 165, and 174 pound weight classes due to gaps in their line up, giving the Eagles the lead.
Coach Zach Mizer can attest to the progress his team is making as the season continues on.
“Proud of the fight the guys showed,” said Mizer. “They wrestled with purpose and didn’t quit. We have a quick turn around to the Drury Open on Saturday. Let’s see if we can keep that aggressive attitude going.”
Similar to Clay, Jacob Kehrer and Eli Lupton found victory via pin over their opponents.
