Scots qualify 11 for NCWA Nationals

COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Saturday for the Lyon College men’s and women’s wrestling teams was a day of championships.

At the National Collegiate Wrestling Association (NCWA) Southwest Conference Championships, at Texas A&M University, all 11 Scots wrestlers punched their tickets to the NCWA Championships, which will be held at the Brookshire Grocery Arena in Bossier City, Louisiana on March 14 through 16. 

The Scots women’s team finished in first place overall with all four wrestlers claiming first in their respective weight classes.

Mikayla Wallace was named the Most Outstanding Female Wrestler of the tournament. 
All seven wrestlers who competed for the Lyon College men’s team, finished in the top five in their respective weight classes. The men’s team also rack up 87.5 team points to claim third place overall.
Not only did the Scots women win the championship and the Scots men finishing third overall, interim women’s wrestling coach for Lyon College, Emma de Brum was named the NCWA Southwest Conference Coach of the Year.
