LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Little Rock student-athletes continued their string of academic success during the Spring 2023 semester, accumulating a departmental 3.304 grade point average. That marks the 20th consecutive semester the Trojans have posted a GPA above 3.00, continuing the showcase the athletic department’s commitment to success in the classroom.
Most impressively, all 11 programs at Little Rock have a cumulative GPA over 3.0 while 10 of the 11 programs posted a GPA over 3.0 during the 2022-23 academic year.
During the Spring 2023 semester, women’s golf led the department with a 3.792 GPA while swimming and diving tallied a 3.622 GPA.
Overall for the academic year, women’s golf again led the way with a 3.756 GPA. Soccer came in a close second with a 3.643 mark while swimming and diving scored a 3.640 GPA.
As the spring semester came to a close, Little Rock had 59 student-athletes complete the term with a 4.0 GPA with another 126 recording a 3.0 GPA or higher. That resulted in 185 of Little Rock’s approximately 275 student-athletes (67.3%) posting a 3.0 or better GPA for the spring semester.
Swimming and diving led the way with 13 student-athletes posting a perfect 4.0 while women’s track and field/cross country followed with 10. Soccer recorded nine and men’s track and field/cross country totaled eight. Every single team on Little Rock’s campus had at least one student-athlete with a 4.0 for the spring and every single team had no less than six student-athletes post a 3.0 or better GPA for the term.
The Trojans had 22 student-athletes receive their degrees following the conclusion of the spring semester, five of which graduated with honors (Cum Laude, Summa Cum Laude or Magna Cum Laude).
