LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Little Rock Athletics’ Kaylie Noll was named the 2022-23 SID of the Year by the National Wrestling Media Association, released today. Noll has been the media relations contact since the start of the wrestling program in 2019, handling everything from recaps and stats to photography and content management.
“I have enjoyed every moment of covering Little Rock’s rise over the past five years, from their beginnings as a scrappy group of underdogs to a proud, nationally ranked team today,” said Noll. “Accepting this award is just another part of my journey to help put the Trojans on the map, because the men on this team deserve every bit of the recognition they have earned. I’m incredibly surprised yet grateful and honored to be recognized among such a brilliant and passionate community.”
Noll joined the Little Rock Athletic Department in July of 2019, serving as the Communications Assistant Director. Currently, she handles the communication efforts for the Trojan men’s wrestling team and women’s swimming and diving team.
“Little Rock Wrestling wouldn’t look the same without Kayle,” said Little Rock Wrestling head coach Neil Erisman. “Her countless hours has created a great brand for us that is now recognized all over the country. We are very grateful for her and her work.”
Currently, Noll is part-time employee for Little Rock Athletics. She works full-time for the workout app MySwimPro while also aiding as an assistant swim coach with the local club Little Rock Arkansas Dolphins.
“Kaylie has done amazing work in media relations for all of her sports, but especially for the wrestling program,” said Assistant AD of Communications Brandy Dixon. “Kaylie’s passion for each of her teams and her desire to enhance the program shows in all of her work. She is very deserving of this honor.”
She graduated with her Master’s degree in Sport Management from UA-Little Rock in the spring of 2021. During her two years of graduate school, she handled the communication and marketing efforts for the Trojan soccer, wrestling, and swimming and diving teams while assisting with game day communications duties and graphic design work for both communication and external purposes.
Noll came to Little Rock from Green Bay where she spent three years in the Phoenix’s athletic offices. Beginning as a communications and marketing assistant while obtaining her undergraduate degree, Noll assumed the role of Coordinator of Athletic Communications in August of 2018, serving as the main communications contact for the Green Bay volleyball, tennis, cross country, swimming and diving and skiing programs.
In her first year as a full-time staff member working with the Phoenix volleyball program, Noll oversaw the media efforts for Green Bay’s historic 2018 season, capturing the program’s first-ever regular season conference title and making its first NCAA tournament appearance in 15 years.
Noll arrived in Green Bay as a student-athlete, competing for four years on the Phoenix swimming and diving team in the distance freestyle, backstroke and IM events. The Peoria, Illinois native graduated summa cum laude with a degree in communication and was honored as a Chancellor’s Medallion recipient in May 2018.
The National Wrestling Media Association is the national professional organization for journalists who cover college, high school and international wrestling. Established in 1989, the NWMA awards process is entirely member driven. Active members nominate in the appropriate category, and after all the nominations are collected, the officers select finalists. These finalists are then sent back to the membership for voting on the winner.
