SAN FRANCISCO – For the second time this season, Nasir Bailey has been named Pac-12 Wrestler of the Week after his performances over the final weekend of the regular season. The sophomore from Park Forest, Illinois, is the first Trojan wrestler to be nominated twice in one year of competition as well as three times in his career. It is also a program-high fourth conference honor for the Little Rock wrestling team this season.

Bailey went 3-0 this weekend in duals against Pac-12 foes Cal Poly and CSU-Bakersfield as well as North Dakota State. He took out the #2 wrestler in the country at 133 pounds, Zeth Romney from Cal Poly, by 8-2 decision before traveling to Bakersfield to collect a decision over #23 Kyle Burwick of North Dakota State and a major decision over the host team’s starter to cap off a perfect weekend. His efforts also helped Little Rock secure back-to-back Pac-12 Dual Meet titles. Read the full recap here.

Bailey previously secured the acclaim on Jan. 7 after going 5-0 at the Southern Scuffle to earn the 133-pound title. All-time honorees for the program are listed below.

Nasir Bailey and the Little Rock wrestling team will return to action at the Pac-12 Tournament on March 6, taking place at Oregon State, before heading to the NCAA Championships from March 20-22.
