Brock Herman continued his late-season surge with a pair of victories last week, earning his second consecutive Pac-12 Wrestler of the Week award, announced Tuesday morning.
Herman, ranked No. 20 at 149 pounds by FloWrestling, picked up wins in duals at Oklahoma State and at home against CSU Bakersfield. The junior improved to 10-3 on the season and has now won eight of his last nine matches.
“It’s an honor to earn this award again, but the main goal is to keep getting better,” Herman said. “I’m proud of how I competed, and I’m excited to keep building as the season goes on.”
Herman’s back-to-back honors give Little Rock six Pac-12 Wrestler of the Week awards this season — the most by the Trojans since joining the conference. He also becomes the fourth different Little Rock wrestler to earn the recognition this year, another program best in the Pac-12 era.
“I’m excited for Brock,” head coach Neil Erisman said. “He’s been making some big changes in his mindset, and it’s been business as usual for him. He’s done a great job.”
Herman opened the weekend with a 6-5 decision over Beau Hickman at Oklahoma State on Friday. He followed that performance by pinning CSU Bakersfield’s Hayden Zinkin in just over one minute Sunday at the Jack Stephens Center.
