MANHEIM, Pennsylvania – Ouachita wrestlers Jimmy Anderson and Jaylon Otero have been included in the latest national rankings from the National Wrestling Coaches Association.
Anderson is ranked No. 6 nationally in the 133 weight class. The junior from Pittsburg, Pennsylvania is 16-3 overall so far in the 2024-25 season, including an 11-3 mark against opponents from the NCAA Division II ranks. He posted a streak of 10 consecutive victories. Most recently, he finished fourth at the Midwest Classic in Indianapolis with wins over two ranked opponents.
Otero is ranked No. 10 in the 157 weight class. The graduate student from Tulsa, Oklahoma is 10-5 overall so far and 5-5 against D2 opposition. Otero possibly has had the toughest schedule this season with all five losses coming against top 20 opponents. The highlight of his season so far was a perfect 5-0 sweep and a first-place finish at the Drury Open.
Anderson, Otero, and the rest of the Tigers are off for the Christmas break and return to action January 15 in a road dual against Carl Albert State.
