Wrestling Set to Compete at Southern Scuffle Hosted by UT Chattanooga

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — After a successful end to 2024, 18 Trojans will represent Little Rock at Southern Scuffle to kick off the new year. Little Rock will slate at least 1 representative at each weight class except 174. 

The Slate
At 125, Jayden Carson will be the lone Trojan after making his return to the mat at the Collegiate Duals. Carson will take on Enis Ljikovic of Davidson to start.

At 133, Nasir Bailey enters as the top seeded wrestler. Bailey enters 2025 at number 9 on The Open Mat rankings. Morgan State’s Kevin Lopez will welcome Bailey into 2025.

Marco Dalakishvilli will represent Little Rock at 141. Dalakishvilli will start the new year against Charlie Sly from Gardner-Webb. 

Three Trojans will compete at 149 including Cade Gilbert, Kyle Lew, and Jordan Williams. Williams enters as the number 2 seed and will wrestle Oklahoma’s Leyton Schneider. Gilber will compete against Carson DesRosier of The Citadel and Lew will see Benji Alanis of Northern Colorado.

Bronson Baxter and Cody Wagner enter in the 157 lb weight class. Baxter will take on Duke’s Logan Fite while Wagner will take the winner of Jeremiah Price (Appalachian State) and Frankie Dibella (Virginia Tech).

165 will have 4 Trojans including Nico Lozano taking on Wesley Barnes from Clarion, Brendon Abdon against Aiden Lenz from The Citadel, Gunner Holland against James Johnston of Long Island, and Austin Keal against Austin Craft from American Univeristy. Abdon enters as the four seed.

At 184, Jake Stacey will compete against Al Heeg from Northern Colorado, Branson Britten will go against Hadyn Danals of West Virginia and Triston Wills will take on Patrick Cutchember from Clarion. Wills comes in as the four seed.

197 will feature Liam Daniels taking on Sonny Sasso of Virginia Tech.

Wrapping up the weight classes, Kaden Darwin and KJ Miley will represent Little Rock at 285. Darwin has Ricky Thomas of Oklahoma and Miley will see the 2 seed Connor Barket of Duke.
