KANSAS CITY, Missouri – Ouachita’s Jaylon Otero has been selected to the All-Mid-America Athletic Association Second Team for the 2023-24 season.
Otero is 29-6 overall this season at the 157 class, including an 11-4 record against NCAA Division II opponents, and a 3-2 mark against MIAA competition in Ouachita’s first year in the league.
The junior from Tulsa, Oklahoma has won eight of his last nine matchups heading into the NCAA Super Region 4 Tournament, which is this Saturday, March 2 in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Otero and the rest of the Tigers start the regional tournament this Saturday at 9 a.m. The top three from each weight class advance to nationals, which is March 15-16 in Wichita, Kansas.
