Springdale performs well at Bentonville West Invitational

The Springdale High School Wrestling team competed in the Bentonville West Invitational on Dec 9th and Dec 10th.

The girls wrestled on Friday with first places finishes from sophomore Emily Ashby and senior Ruby Perez. According to Emily, she was very happy with how she did at the tournament, but she wanted to keep improving so that she can qualify to compete at state.

Due to a qualification change this year, both the boys and girls need to place in the top four at their respective regional conferences in order to compete at the State tournament in Little Rock.

Overall, the lady Bulldogs continued to elevate girls wrestling in Arkansas by taking second to the girls’ team from Columbus, Kansas.  

On Saturday, the varsity boys competed in their first tournament of the season. Although the results were not what the team had hoped for, the matches gave the wrestlers an opportunity to see what they needed to work on
