Batesville, AR – The Lyon College women’s wrestling team has been selected to finish fourth in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) 2025-26 preseason poll.
The Scots earned 13 points to secure the No. 4 spot in the SLIAC preseason poll. Reigning conference champion Schreiner claimed the top position with five first-place votes, while Eureka followed in second with 20 points and one first-place nod. McMurry, newcomers to SLIAC wrestling, finished third with 17 points. Huntingdon took fifth with nine points, and Westminster rounded out the rankings in sixth with six points.
After finishing third in last year’s conference championship, the Scots return a strong core built around three of the conference’s top wrestlers. Rubi Gonzales, last season’s runner-up and Second Team All-Conference selection, leads the group alongside Kaylei Parish, a Third Team honoree, and D’Mysha James, a fellow runner-up and Second Team All-Conference member. All three are poised to make a major impact this season, earning spots on the 2025-26 SLIAC Watch List.
The 2025-26 season is set to begin Sunday, November 9th.
