TIGERS HANG WITH DEFENDING NATIONAL CHAMPS

EDMOND, Oklahoma – The Ouachita wrestling team picked up three bout victories and were within two points in two other bouts in a 29-10 loss to the defending NCAA Division II national champion Central Oklahoma on Friday night in a MIAA dual.

Fifth-ranked Jimmy Anderson earned a 5-1 win by decision in the 133 bout, Caleb Andrews earned an 18-6 major in the 149, and Brooks Schrimsher used a 10-point third period rally to earn a 16-11 win by decision in the heavyweight bout.

Two other Tigers were within reach, highlighted by Jaylon Otero falling to the defending 157 national champion Gabe Johnson in a 4-2 decision. Luke Brooks fell to UCO’s Bryce Daulphin by a 6-5 decision on a late escape by Daulphin.

The Tigers are off for the Thanksgiving holiday before returning to action Saturday, December 7 in Hays, Kansas to dual against Northwest Kansas Tech and Fort Hays State.
