TIGERS RALLY BACK TO BEAT EAGLES

ARKADELPHIA – The Ouachita wrestling team used wins in each of the last three bouts to come from behind and beat the University of the Ozarks on Wednesday night at home by a final score of 24-16.

Henry Martin started the comeback with 12-2 major in the 184 bout over UO’s Robert Morris to even up the dual at 16-16. Brooks Schrimsher then won by tech fall (16-1, 3:30) in the 197 bout over UO’s Iyanu Akingbolagun to give the Tigers a big lead heading into the heavyweight clash.

Parker Henry put the finishing touches on the dual win by beating UO’s Philip Saenz by a 7-1 decision.

Other winners for the Tigers included Jimmy Anderson with a 6-1 decision in the 133, Caleb Andrews with a pin in 1:30 in the 149, and Jaylon Otero with a hard-fought 9-8 decision in the 157.

The Tigers honored the team’s seven seniors prior to the dual: Jaylon Otero, Hudson Herring, RJ Hild, Brooks Schrimsher, Terrence Murray, William Martin, and Zander Fields.

Ouachita heads to Edmond, Oklahoma this Friday, November 22 to take on the defending NCAA Division II champion Central Oklahoma in a MIAA dual starting at 7 p.m.
