UNIVERSITY PARK, Penn. – #6 Stephen Little (197 lbs) and #2 Nasir Bailey (133 lbs) competed at the NWCA All-Star Classic at Penn State’s campus Saturday evening.

Stephen Little edged Illinois’ Zac Braunagel with a 2-1 TB-2 victory. Little took a 1-0 lead in the second round with an escape after starting in the down position but surrendered a point in similar fashion in the third round. At the end of the sudden victory period, Braunagel won the flip and chose the bottom position in TB1, aiming for an escape; however, Little held strong, preventing him from escaping and completing the ride out in the 30-second TB period. In TB2, Little started in the down position and secured an escape with six seconds remaining to clinch the 2-1 victory.

Nasir Bailey faced Illinois’ Lucas Byrd in the 133 lbs weight class, falling 0-1 after Byrd earned a point for an escape in the second round. Starting the second round in the top position, Bailey clocked 55 seconds of riding time before surrendering the escape to Byrd. That escape proved decisive as Bailey chose neutral in the third period, seeking the match-winning takedown. Despite a strong late push and a near-takedown attempt as time expired, Bailey was unable to score.

The two will rejoin their team for a dual against Northwestern on Sunday, November 24th, as the team looks to remain undefeated in dual action.
